A long hiatus on this page, but a lot has happened in my life over the past few years. Our youngest son Silas was diagnosed with leukemia in 2020 and cured over a period of 2 years of intense chemos. We are very grateful that he is still with us, alive and kicking. Further, I got tenure as Assistant Professor at the Free University Amsterdam in January of 2022. I taught 2 large new bacholor courses this year for which I developed lots of new material (e.g. see here and here). The courses were evaluated very well. We organized the international ASSC (Association for the Scientific Study of Consciousness) conference in Amsterdam in July of this year, together with a great team (Simon van Gaal, Steven Scholte, Stijn Nuiten, Lola Beerendonk, I chaired the scientific committee). ASSC 25 was a great success. I also recently got a grant from the Templeton Foundation for a 2-year postdoc investigating the limits of unconscious cognition using an Bayesian ordinal modeling framework. This will be executed from 2023-2025. I am feeling a bit exhausted at the moment, but writing the list above is actually very therapeutic. I am still here. Stay tuned.
